Hi, my name is Lindy van der Merwe. I am a mum of a boy and a girl, interested in technology, business, being creative and I am an aspiring on-line entrepreneur, hoping to help myself and others on a journey of self-discovery, self-employment and self-actualization.
I have found that for me, and I suspect for a lot of others, creating one’s own income is important, not only because it is necessary for many of us to be able to make it financially, but it could help create, amongst other things, a tremendous sense of accomplishment enhancing self-esteem and creating new opportunities for self-improvement.

Moreover, an on-line community can often provide a social connection for those who feel socially or geographically isolated and alone in their pursuit of employment or self-fulfilment.

Those of us who are blind or visually impaired may have many opportunities not open to us in the past, but we are also faced with some unique challenges in our pursuit of earning income and being successful in today’s virtual environment. This site is an effort to establish a platform where blind and visually impaired people would be able to find and share resources pertaining to self-employment and starting and running their own small businesses, earning part-time or full-time income to further financial independence and helping us to support ourselves and those around us financially.

I hope you will join me on this journey so we can build bridges and break down barriers together …
